Brad Berens SpeakerBrad Berens is an editor, writer, critic, public speaker and thinker focused on media, culture, marketing how the things that audiences do with what they watch have a huge impact on who they are. Brad is the head of programming for three events companies focused on the intersection of interactive media with marketing and advertising—ad:tech, the iMedia Summits and the CMO Executive Summits. Brad joined the company in 2004 as the Editor in Chief of its daily media property, iMedia Connection, and was later promoted to his current role. Before iMedia, he spent four years as the editor of all things digital at EarthLink, the ISP. He is also a Senior Research Fellow at the USC Annenberg Center for the Digital Future. Brad holds a Ph.D. in English from U.C. Berkeley. He spent years as an award-winning teacher and scholar, giving talks about Shakespeare all over the world.[/expand]

Born in South Africa, he switched from TV journalism to copywriting, lived and worked in Mexico for three years, with his advertising career culminating as Global Creative Director of JWT in London. He has spoken at creativity conferences from Lagos to Lisbon and from Glasgow to Reykjavik; he has lectured at the London Business School, Brunel and Henley, and is currently consulting with Bilbao’s Creativity Centre. He worked extensively in Europe, the US and Latin America with multinationals such as Unilever, Kellogg’s, Nestle, Ford, De Beers, Vodafone and Diageo, and with pharmaceuticals giants like Pfizer, Bayer and Abbott.[/expand]
