Former Assistant Secretary of State
As Assistant Secretary of State and Chief Spokesman for the State Department, James Rubin was employed in the Clinton Administration for over seven years and served as a top adviser and confidant to former Secretary of State, Madeleine Albright.
During his position as Chief Spokesman, James Rubin briefed the nation and world - through daily, on-camera sessions with American and foreign journalists.

In 1998, Mr Rubin was the recipient of Columbia College’s John Jay Award for Distinguished Professional Achievement. In April 2000, Secretary of State Madeleine Albright awarded him the State Department’s highest honour, the “Distinguished Service Award”.
Now living in London, James Rubin is working for one of the biggest City PR firms, with 30 FTSE 100 companies among its clients. At the same time, he is keeping up his commitments as a writer and broadcaster, and as a lecturer at the London School of Economics.
